Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers. 
 
 
On May 25, 2010 Christopher Maher, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Officer of  both Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (the "Company") and The Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh (the "Bank"), announced his resignation from the employment of both the Company and Bank effective on or about July 15, 2010.  Upon his resignation, Mr. Maher will be pursuing a management opportunity within the financial services industry, and his departure did not result from any matter or dispute involving management of either the Company or Bank.
