Regarding media reports of display business tie-up

TOKYO, December 19, 2007—With regard to media reports appearing today concerning a tie-up between Canon Inc., Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. and Hitachi Ltd. for displays, Canon Inc. has stated that, to date, no decisions regarding such a partnership have been made.
