Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

(d)    On October 31, 2017, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of United States Steel Corporation appointed Eugene B. Sperling, who was elected to the Board effective July 24, 2017, to serve on the Corporate Governance & Public Policy and Audit committees of the Board. Mr. Sperling had previously not been assigned to serve on any board committee.
