Item 8.01 Other Events.

On May 16, 2007 American Access Technologies, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that it closed its previously announced merger with M & I Electric Industries, Inc. In connection with the completion of the merger, the Company adopted American Electric Technologies, Inc. as its corporate name, effected a 5-to-1 reverse stock split of its common stock, and announced the election of its officers and new board of directors. The Company also announced that its common stock would begin trading on May 16, 2007 on the NASDAQ Capital Market and that the Company has changed its trading symbol from “AATK” to “AETI.”
