Attached and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit 99.1 is a copy of the press release of Auburn National Bancorporation, Inc., dated July 17, 2008, reporting the Company’s financial results for the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2008.
Item 8.01. Other Events
On July 11, 2008, the Company sold certain real property to the City of Auburn which sought to expand its downtown parking facilities. The largest parcel was purchased by the Company in 1978. The Company expects to recognize a gain on this sale for the quarter ending September 30, 2008 of approximately $1.1 million before taxes. The Company plans to use the proceeds from the sale of this property to purchase additional branch locations for future expansion in the Auburn-Opelika MSA and surrounding areas.
