On July 22, 2013, Life Technologies Corporation (Life Technologies) issued a press release announcing that it has filed a definitive proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the pending acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Thermo Fisher) of Life Technologies and has set the date for a special meeting of stockholders to approve the transaction. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
