Item 8.01 Other Events.

On September 5, 2008, Landstar System, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release regarding a recent decision by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in the case involving the Company, certain of its subsidiaries, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, Inc. and certain independent contractors who provide truck capacity to the Company and its subsidiaries under exclusive lease arrangements. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
