ITEM 8.01 OTHER EVENTS.

On January 3, 2007, Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc., the holding company
of Berkshire Bank (the "Bank"), issued a press release announcing the promotion
of Michael J. Oleksak to Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking of the
Bank. Mr. Oleksak will also continue to serve as Regional President for the
Pioneer Valley. The press release dated January 3, 2007 is included as Exhibit
99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
