cellcom israel announces dismissal of purported class action
While the Company has not issued any report concerning the matter set forth below, the Company’s controlling shareholder will provide an immediate report about this matter under its Israeli reporting requirements and, consequently, the Company is filing this Form 6-K.
Netanya, Israel – November 4, 2010 – Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE: CEL) (TASE: CEL) (hereinafter: the "Company"), announced today the dismissal with prejudice of a purported class action filed against the Company (and two other cellular operators) in August 2006, in the District Court of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, by plaintiffs alleging to be subscribers of the defendants, in connection with sums allegedly unlawfully charged for a segment of a call that was not actually carried out. Had the lawsuit been certified as a class action, the total amount claimed was estimated by the plaintiffs to exceed NIS 100 million, without specifying the amount claimed from the Company.
