CN announces C$850-million debt offering

 

MONTREAL, Sept. 14, 2015 CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) today announced a public debt offering of C$350 million 2.8% Notes due 2025, C$400 million 3.95% Notes due 2045, and C$100 million 4.0% Notes due 2065. CN expects to close the offering on Sept. 22, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions.

 

CN plans to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including the redemption and refinancing of outstanding indebtedness, and share repurchases.

 

The debt offering is being made in Canada under an effective shelf prospectus CN filed on Dec. 3, 2013.
