Item 9. Regulation FD Disclosure.
On July 20, 2004, Encore Wire Corporation, a Delaware corporation (the “Company”), issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors declared a 3-for-2 stock split to be paid as a 50% stock dividend on the Company’s common stock . The stock dividend is payable August 16, 2004 to stockholders of record at the close of business on August 6, 2004. A copy of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
