Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 6, 2006, Genta Incorporated (NASDAQ: GNTA) issued a press release announcing that the Company’s proposal for a randomized trial of Genasense® (oblimersen sodium) Injection in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has completed Special Protocol Assessment (SPA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
