Scheduled for Thursday, May 23, from 10:00 to 11:30 am EDT, the workshop will take place at 10215 Wincopin Circle, Suite 100, Columbia, MD 21044.

Ideal for Howard County start-up ventures, in this 1 hour 30-minute session, attendees will gain essential insights into crafting effective strategies to navigate insurance matters in the aftermath of a disaster. Led by experts from the Maryland Insurance Administration, including Joy Hatchette, Associate Commissioner for Consumer Education and Advocacy Unit, participants will learn how to maximize insurance coverage and safeguard their businesses during times of crisis.

Ms. Hatchette brings a wealth of experience to the workshop, having served as Associate Commissioner for Consumer Complaints at the MIA from September 1997 until July 2004. Her expertise in insurance regulations and consumer advocacy ensures attendees will receive invaluable guidance on protecting their businesses.

According to Howard County Economic Development Authority Jesse Trahan, "In times of crisis, having the right insurance coverage can make all the difference for a business. This workshop will equip attendees with the knowledge and tools they need to ensure they are adequately prepared for any eventuality."

The workshop will also feature representatives from the Howard County Office of Emergency Management (OEM), who will provide templates and resources for developing comprehensive emergency plans tailored to each business's needs.
