UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / June 9, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Dennis Clay Parker for his expertise in the mining and consulting services industries. With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Parker has achieved much and made significant strides within his profession. As the owner of Fox Creek Consulting LLC, Mr. Parker continues to make an impact on the industry.

Mr. Parker's Educational Background
Mr. Parker earned a bachelor's degree in geology from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1977. He has also completed master-level coursework and was certified as a quality control engineer in 1978. Each of these experiences has been key to his continued work with industrial minerals.
Entering the Mining Industry
Mr. Parker began his career as a geologist and new product development manager for Lowe's Southern Clay, eventually taking on the additional role of quality control manager. There, he worked directly with Mr. Edward Lowe, the original inventor of cat litter and the brand name "Kitty Litter."
After 5 years with Lowe's, Mr. Parker transitioned to the Davison Chemical Division of WR Grace, serving as process supervisor of the Silica Gel Complex, which produced silica gel for a range of applications. In 1983, he joined ITC Inc., quickly advancing to vice president of sales and serving in that capacity from 1984 to 1996.
In 1996, Mr. Parker became the president and chief executive officer of Active Minerals Inc., where he served until 2007. He then became the president and chief operating officer of Active Minerals International LLC, serving in the former capacity until selling the business to Golden Gate Capital in 2018. He continued as CEO until December 2020 when he transitioned to a senior advisory and board member role, remaining with the company until 2024.
Mr. Parker grew ITC and Active Minerals from trading companies to global direct sellers by acquiring suppliers to secure sources of supply for domestic and international customers. "We started streamlining the supply channels well before it became popular, and the result was cost-competitive products to our customers worldwide," he says.
In 2024, Mr. Parker established Fox Creek Consulting LLC, where he applies his expertise in mineral processing and industrial materials mining to assess the workability of deposits and recommend an approach to new markets and applications. Additionally, he offers guidance and actionable solutions to mineral companies at the board level. "I love retirement in the Teton mountains with skiing, hiking, kayaking, cycling year-round keeps my energy level high, but developing my new mineral-based business ventures keeps my mind engaged in what I do best," says Parker.
Awards and Achievements
Mr. Parker has visited more than 40 countries and been granted 12 patents, with another pending. In 2018, he received the Leadership Development Award from Academy Leadership. He has also been a guest on Doug Llewelyn's podcast and maintains a position as a board member with High Divide Minerals LLC, a Riverspan Partners portfolio company.
Mr. Parker developed high-purity kaolin, colemanite and silica markets in Asia, Europe and South America for electronic-grade fiberglass, used in numerous electronic devices worldwide. He has also sold more than 10 million tons of clays and other minerals throughout his career.
Currently, Mr. Parker is working on a patent for a novel energy storage system that uses water and ground mineral ores for an efficient and environmentally friendly electrical energy storage solution. Additionally, he and his partners are developing a new form of cat litter designed for use in conventional cat litter boxes and the new robotic systems, a particularly exciting venture given the market's vast growth.
Mr. Parker attributes much of his success to the people in his life, particularly his wife, who has built a stable home for him and his children. He also acknowledges Edward Lowe and Dr. Hadyn Murray for their mentorship and guidance. "They taught me that success and progress come from taking risks to develop new products and applications." Finally, he credits his continued education and leadership training for his ability to lead and motivate others and help them enjoy their work.
Plans for the Future of Energy
Moving forward, Mr. Parker aims to continue growing his company while developing his new patent. He feels that the storage device could potentially be world-changing as a low-cost, eco-friendly zero-hazard energy solution that helps others manage the price of electricity. He hopes to build a global organization that promotes and develops the product and believes energy storage is the future of global electrical markets.
