Mr. Martin's Academic Background
Before beginning his professional career, Mr. Martin first built his academic foundations. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from McGill University, graduating with honors in 1990. He subsequently earned a master's degree in history from the University of Vermont in 1992. By 1997, Mr. Martin completed all but his dissertation in pursuit of a doctorate in history from Temple University.
A Dedicated Career in Research and Data Analytics
Transitioning from his academic career, Mr. Martin became a manager in data analytics for The Marketing Audit Inc. After three years in the role, he became a senior research analyst at IMS Health, now IQVIA. At IMS Health, he rose to become manager of industry analysis, then senior manager of industry analysis, demonstrating growing expertise in his field. Early on, he realized he enjoyed research, data analytics and data management.
It was in 2004 that Mr. Martin earned a Master of Business Administration in marketing analytics from Drexel University's LeBow College of Business, solidifying his background in commercial analytics. In 2018, he completed executive education coursework in business analytics at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Martin left IMS Health in 2007 to join Health Strategies Group as an associate consultant for strategic accounts, joining Novo Nordisk as a senior manager for pricing analytics the next year. By 2014, he became the associate director of marketing investments at the pharmaceutical company. In 2017, he joined Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America as its head of commercial analytics and insights.
Responsibilities at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America
In his current role, Mr. Martin's responsibilities are divided into seven key categories: forecasting, research, analytics, reporting, intelligence, data infrastructure and compensation planning. His work supports around 150 individuals by providing them with the resources they need to better assist patients and physicians in accessing, understanding and using key medications. In 2021, Mr. Martin was named to the list of the Top 100 global pharmaceutical executives in strategic data management and analytics by CDO Magazine.
An Advocate for Community
Beyond his professional career, Mr. Martin is an avid ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In this civic work, he raises awareness for a community of more than 300,000 individuals living with various neuromuscular disorders, and commits himself to supporting them. In addition to this, he is an appointed member of the township committee of Montgomery, New Jersey.
Moving forward, Mr. Martin hopes to continue launching products that benefit the medical community and to persist in his advocacy work for the muscular disease community. Furthermore, he aims to use his position as a member of Montgomery's township committee to positively influence the direction of his own community.
