He is a key adviser to the company regarding acquisitions and divestitures, cash flow management, earnings forecasting, and data analytics. Opportunities for growth are on the horizon due to the aging population and Mr. Dang's role at AlerisLife is to anticipate how the company can prepare for the influx. The Importance of a Good Education
Mr. Dang attributes his success to his studies and believes that a good education always pays off. He encourages others in the field to pursue knowledge just as his mentor encouraged him to pursue a master's degree.
Mr. Dang earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and a master's degree in business administration, with a focus in finance, from the Boston University Questrom School of Business. He also actively maintains his professional license and credits his education with the many opportunities that have been presented to him throughout his career.
Finding Success in Family and Community
Mr. Dang also acknowledges his family's role in his success. His wife, Dr. Pragya Dang, is the head of breast radiology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and they have two young daughters together, Anya and Ava.
"Success starts with the home life. I have been married for almost 20 years now. My wife is a leading physician in the community, where she is excelling in her profession. She pushes me. I push her. When she feels stable at work, then it opens up a chance for me to take on a new role or venture, and vice versa. We have different but not necessarily competing demands at work, which allows us to together raise two beautiful daughters," Mr. Dang says.
Mr. Dang continues to remain focused on his career and values continuous learning. He remains informed on the latest developments in the accounting industry, finance and the world, which he encourages others in his field to do as well.
