Mr. Espino's professional path began in 1979 with the launch of several home-based care companies. The businesses included American Medical Rentals Inc. and American Home Care Services Inc. Over the years, he has held executive and consulting roles with UniPhy ACO, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Memorial General Hospital and Accountable Care Options LLC, to mention only a few.
Since founding Complete Care Management Services in 2019, Mr. Espino has created a model that combines post-acute, chronic disease, behavioral and advanced care management with in-person home visits and telemedicine. He consistently integrates data, analytics and artificial intelligence.
Mr. Espino's model prioritizes practical data. "We continue to deploy different tools to capture more data," he said. "We want to do things that render us actionable items that can make a difference in that person's life."
One study led by Mr. Espino's team followed 50 high-risk patients over 29 months. They used government access tools like SPOT to monitor admissions and discharges. As a result, they kept 36 patients out of the hospital.
A Father's Lasting Influence
Early life challenges fueled Mr. Espino's drive. Born in Cuba, he came to the U.S. as an infant in 1959. Mr. Espino's father, once a successful businessman, was forced to rebuild his life in a new country. "My father was my idol," he says.
Watching his father work through hardship helped form Mr. Espino's values. "It became a trait of mine never to give up and learn to say no," he says. Additionally, reading the works of authors like Napoleon Hill and Zig Ziglar helped get him to where he is now.
Mr. Espino earned an associate degree in business, management and marketing from Miami-Dade College in 1980. Since then, his commitment to service has extended beyond the business world. He volunteers with civic organizations such as HART and has written articles on health care technology and revenue models. In 2024, Healthcare Business Review recognized him as one of the Top 10 Post Acute Care Service Providers.
A Bigger Vision for Home-Based Primary and Advanced Care
Mr. Espino's understanding of the Complete Healthcare System has been central to advancing his mission. Leveraging social media and a strong online presence, his team actively engages with other organizations and effectively communicates the impact of their work. Since early 2024, the company has strategically invested in enhancing its digital outreach to raise awareness and foster meaningful collaborations.
