The Standard recently promoted Kevin Mannino and hired Todd Smiser to divisional vice president roles in Retirement Plans. Mannino will lead our sales teams in the Midwest and Smiser will be responsible for our sales teams in the South. Each has in-depth knowledge of the retirement plans industry and embodies the company’s customer-centric values.

Kevin Mannino, Divisional Vice President, Retirement Plans at The Standard

Mannino joined The Standard in July 2023 as a premier market sales director and has 14 years of experience in the retirement industry. He spent most of his career generating new business for mid- to large-sized retirement plans at Prudential Retirement. Prior to joining The Standard, Mannino served as senior director of distribution at Principal Financial Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from Villanova University.

“Kevin’s expertise in consultative selling, coaching and deal-level strategy development contributed to his success in premier market sales,” said Jason Burlie, vice president of Retirement Plan Sales at The Standard. “His natural curiosity and passion for continuous learning are evident in his work and support of our sales and client retention.”

Smiser has more than 31 years of experience in the retirement industry, including 20 years in sales leadership. Prior to joining The Standard, he served as divisional vice president at OneAmerica, with prior experience at Voya and Empower. Smiser earned a bachelor’s degree from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
