ERI’s John Shegerian Receives ‘Distinguished Service’ Award from REMADE Institute

By: via Business Wire

For his and his company’s contributions to the advancement of the circular economy, John Shegerian, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of ERI, the nation’s leading material resource recovery, ITAD, and technology reuse and recycling provider, was presented with the Distinguished Service Award from the REMADE Institute at the 2026 REMADE Circular Economy Tech Summit & Conference in Washington, DC.

Alongside Bill Davies of Davies Office, Shegerian was honored as one of two distinguished proponents of the circular economy presented with the award.

The REMADE Institute, a 150+ member public-private partnership that funds and accelerates the US’s transition to a circular economy, also invited Shegerian to deliver a keynote address at the conference, which was presented in a special “fireside chat” format in which Shegerian was interviewed by REMADE Institute founder Nabil Nasr.

Shegerian also served as part of a timely critical mineral panel discussion titled “Recovering & Recycling Critical Minerals to Strengthen US Supply Chain Resilience.” Critical minerals are essential to modern life, powering everything from smartphones to vehicles to defense systems. In the session, Shegerian was joined by industry innovators and other renowned expert panelists such as Chris Saldaña of US Department of Energy’s Office of Critical Minerals; Ben Kincaid from ReElement; Mark Newton from Samsung; and Chris York from Mint Innovation.

In the panel, the experts discussed efforts across the US and beyond to recover and recycle critical minerals, such as platinum group metals and rare earth elements, from end-of-life products, including electronics.

“We were honored to present the Distinguished Service Award to John Shegerian for his work with ERI,” said REMADE Institute founder Nabil Nasr. “John is a longtime proponent of the Circular Economy and we were also honored to have him deliver a keynote and participate in the rare earth panel this year. John and his team at ERI are doing impactful work.”

“Receiving the Distinguished Service Award was a deeply humbling experience,” said Shegerian. “It is truly rewarding to know that our work and impact at ERI is resonating with the experts and our peers. I am truly grateful. It was also a great honor and privilege to be on stage with the innovators and thought leaders at the REMADE conference this year. Nabil Nasr and his team at the REMADE Institute produce vitally important events, providing decisionmakers, investors and policymakers with critical thought leadership and an opportunity for experts to share what they know and discuss best practices. Communication and education are paramount if we are to problem-solve and work together to create solutions that protect our planet. We’re grateful to REMADE for including such critical dialogue at this important event.”
