WINNIPEG, MANITOBA: Total Moving, a moving company serving Winnipeg and the surrounding area, has announced its participation in the annual Trees of Joy charity event.
Trees of Joy is a charitable event run by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In this event, corporate donors sponsor trees that are decorated with lights, garlands, and other ornaments. The cost for sponsoring a tree is $10,000, the average cost of a wish for a child with a critical illness. The donors then meet the kids who are getting a wish thanks to their donations, hear their stories, share food, and celebrate the season.
This year, Total Moving participated in the Trees of Joy event by sponsoring a tree. Additionally, it used its fleet of moving trucks to move the sponsored trees into the homes of the kids and their families.
Shawn Hebert, the owner of Total Moving, reflected on the importance of giving during the holiday season: “We had the incredible privilege of participating in Trees of Joy again this year; it’s the third year in a row we’ve been involved,” said Mr. Hebert. “We - the staff and I - truly feel blessed to be able to give something back to the community here in Winnipeg. To be able to share joy with the kids and their families, to see their eyes shine like the lights on the Christmas trees - it’s something really special. I encourage anyone who can participate to do so, or even just to donate what they can to Make-A-Wish; it’s a really worthwhile cause.”
