BBD Architects Invents Innovative Approach For Care Home Facilities In Hampshire

Hampshire-based RIBA architects, BBD, has announced the launch of a new approach to working on care home facilities. They are proposing a scheme that helps care homes seek funding, offering their architecture services to encourage the development of care homes where needed.

BBD, a firm of architects in Hampshire, offering a wide range of bespoke architecture services, has developed a revolutionary new approach for care home facilities. The team aims to change the standard perception of what architects can do for a project.

BBD Architects’ new approach is being proposed to meet the needs of a care home in Boarhunt, Hampshire. Many care homes now are at capacity, yet social services need to place people in adequate care facilities urgently and get them out of hospitals, which are often completely inappropriate places for them to be.

Care facilities of all types are looking to expand where they can, and they need funding to do this. BBD's role for this project and for others is to propose a scheme that the care home can put forward to apply for funding, backed by social services.

This scheme is for a much-needed day centre and respite facility for adults with Huntington’s disease, in Hampshire. The main care facility caters for adults with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions but specialises in care for residents with Huntington’s disease.

The revolutionary new approach by BBD Architects would allow them to use their services as architects, such as offering planning advice and site appraisal, providing the preparation that the care home managers and planners can then use to secure funding.

BBD Architects work with developers on projects ranging from single refurbishments, conversions to Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO’s), commercial to residential conversions, all the way to small housing developments.

The team will appraise a site with a developer, pre-purchase, and give planning advice on feasibility and the like in order for them to make an informed decision on the site going forward. They have developed strong relationships with their developers over the years, having established a reputation for honest, impartial advice.

Based in a small town called Romsey, in Hampshire, BBD Architects is a RIBA-chartered team that predominantly offers bespoke design services for residential design, but has worked on a wide range of projects in the past, including communal spaces, historic commercial buildings, nurseries, churches, and more. The proposed scheme for care homes represents an increasing focus they are working on, to improve the way that they can help a wider range of deserving projects through architecture.
