-- Jason Brian Fox to Showcase Motionism at Art Expo New York 2025
Jason Brian Fox, a distinguished artist and U.S. Air Force veteran, will present his latest works at Art Expo New York 2025, from April 3 to April 6, 2025. Known for his pioneering Motionism technique, which blends movement and emotion through water-based mediums, Fox is quickly gaining recognition in the contemporary art world.
A decorated veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Fox found solace in art after returning home from his service. He turned to painting as a form of healing, eventually studying at the Art Students League of New York. His work has evolved into a dynamic exploration of abstract expressionism, incorporating elements of both figurative and abstract art. His breakthrough came with his debut at The SoHo Art Show in 2019, followed by multiple awards and exhibitions, including his notable representation by YES Gallery after Art Fair 14C in 2022.
Introducing Motionism: A Unique Artistic Philosophy
Fox’s Motionism technique is at the core of his artistic vision. This philosophy uses water-based methods, particularly watercolor and acrylic, to capture the movement of water and emotion in fluid, ever-changing forms. Fox’s approach contrasts with conventional static painting techniques, giving his work a living, breathing quality that invites the viewer to experience a sense of motion within the artwork itself. For Fox, water symbolizes both the unpredictability of nature and the emotional journeys of the human experience.
“Water is the perfect medium to reflect movement,” Fox explains. “It mirrors the emotional ebb and flow we all experience, and through Motionism, I aim to bring that dynamic energy into my work.”
A Journey of Healing and Expression
Fox’s journey as an artist was influenced by his service in the U.S. Air Force during Operation Desert Storm. After his deployment in the Middle East, he faced the challenges of adjusting to civilian life, a transition familiar to many veterans. It was through art that he found a means of coping and healing, transforming his personal struggles into meaningful artistic expression. The emotional depth of his work, which often features abstract themes and personal symbolism, has connected with audiences on a profound level.
His first group exhibition, at The SoHo Art Show in 2019, marked the beginning of his rise in the art world. Since then, he has been awarded multiple honors, including the Excellence Award from the Medford Art Center in 2022 and 2023, as well as first-place recognition in November 2024. Fox’s works are now featured in private collections across the United States, and his artistic philosophy continues to garner media attention, including features in Artist Weekly, NY Weekly, and Hudson Weekly.
Art Expo New York 2025: A Major Milestone
The upcoming exhibition at Art Expo New York represents a significant moment in Fox’s growing career. This event is set to attract art collectors, curators, and enthusiasts from around the world. Fox will unveil a new series of paintings that expand on his Motionism technique, reinforcing his reputation as an innovative artist with a unique approach to emotional and visual storytelling.
“I’m excited to share these new pieces with the public at Art Expo New York,” Fox states. “Each piece is a step forward in my exploration of motion and emotion, and I believe this collection will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced transformation in their own life.”
