Author Vince Baker believes God has destined his Church to relearn the secrets first revealed to Old Testament prophets and his disciples. He explains how these powerful words will play a vital role in securing victory over the Devil in the last days before Armageddon.
“Since the beginning of creation, there has been a Prophetic War of Words that will continue until the battle of Armageddon. This war is about God's words against the devil's words. All of humanity is caught in the middle of this war,” Vince says.
Vince explains why Christians need to reclaim the power of the spoken word. As envoys of God on earth, they must speak directly to problems and challenges and not expect God to intervene on their behalf. Speaking to Dr. Mel's Message podcast, he says, “God's not just going to do it for you. This has been a great misunderstanding. People pray until they're blue in the face but until someone goes and speaks to the mountain, it will not move.”
His book points out that Jesus' life on earth and the many works he performed all harnessed the power of speech.
“He spoke to fig trees, sicknesses, fevers. He spoke to the water and the wind obeyed him and he spoke to demonic spirits, " Vince adds. "He was teaching mankind how to speak again.”
Other topics explored in Vince's book are the '16 Laws of Faith' which include key doctrines of the Christian church such as the divinity of Christ, the holy trinity, salvation through grace, the Bible as an authentic God-inspired text, sacraments, prayer, and the second coming.
While the message of Christ and his followers is above all one of love, Vince points out that this does not preclude the need to rebuke those who seek to undermine God’s purpose. The book discusses the lost art of rebuking, highlighting how Jesus was unafraid to speak truth to power - from storms to the Pharisees - and fight against oppression.
