Research Results Reveal the Keys to Post-Pandemic Learning and Development Success for Employers – New Study by the HR Research Institute

Today’s learning professionals prioritize skills development and career development, but they are hindered in these tasks by a lack of good learning metrics. As a result, the majority of firms are uncertain about the quality of their learning programs at a time when learning and development (L&D) is critical to meeting new business objectives.

The free research report, The State of Learning Engagement, Solutions and Platforms 2021, is now available for download. HR.com’s Research Institute conducted the study of HR professionals to take an in-depth look at the current state of professional learning and development in order to help employers improve learner engagement and success in changing times.

As business paradigms, technologies, and market conditions continue to change quickly, L&D professionals are striving to achieve two major goals: helping employees to learn crucial new skills while enabling them to further develop their careers. But they are being hindered by the fact that fewer than two-fifths have the kinds of good L&D metrics that allow them to accurately gauge learner skills and success.

Organizations with top-notch learning cultures are, however, more than three times as likely to be satisfied with the data they collect on learning. Moreover, those same organizations are:

  • more likely to have learners in their organization that had a positive experience, are engaged with learning, and feel motivated to learn
  • more than three times as likely to have learning technologies that are well-integrated
  • almost twice as likely to have learning systems that can personalize the learning experience
  • more than five times as likely to have a learning experience platform (LXP)

“The future of corporate learning will have to be more adaptive for employees with strategic development based on relevant metrics,” stated Debbie McGrath, Chief Instigator and CEO of HR.com. “To thrive in the post-pandemic business world, employers need to offer more personalized L&D options for individuals, with modern and mobile platforms.”
