CowgirlRadio.com Issues Open Call for Stories, Songs, and Tributes Ahead of Mother’s Day Broadcast

New York, New York -

Independent internet radio station CowgirlRadio.com has announced an open call for listener-submitted content in honor of Mother’s Day 2025. As part of its first official celebration of the holiday, the station is inviting heartfelt contributions from across its community—songs, stories, spoken-word pieces, letters, and voice memos—to be featured in a special Mother’s Day radio program airing May 11.

Founded in 2024, CowgirlRadio.com has quickly earned a loyal listenership with its unique blend of roots music, storytelling, and community-centered programming. This upcoming broadcast aims to celebrate the many ways motherhood shapes our lives—whether through traditional families, chosen families, or experiences that defy convention.

“This is our first real Mother’s Day celebration, and we want it to feel authentic, inclusive, and moving,” said Ben Killen, founder of CowgirlRadio.com. “We’re inviting anyone with a story or a song in their heart to share something with us. This isn’t about perfect performances or flawless readings—it’s about connection, emotion, and honoring the people who mother us, in every sense of the word.”

The call is open to all individuals regardless of professional experience or background. Submissions are being accepted now through Thursday, May 1st, 2025, via CowgirlRadio.com their social media tree-of-links or by email at Ben@KillenMusicGroup.com. File types may include MP3, WAV, voice memos, or text documents for written submissions. A curated selection will be included in our first-ever Mother’s Day special on May 11, with the option to expand programming into the surrounding weekend if submission volume, time and quality allow.

Content may range from heartfelt tributes to humorous stories, original music, or thoughtful reflections. The station welcomes all interpretations of motherhood—including adoptive, foster, chosen, and non-traditional parental figures. Voices of all ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to participate.

“As someone who’s lost a parental figure unexpectedly, I know that for many people, Mother’s Day carries a complicated mix of emotions,” said Killen. “We want to honor that complexity, and give voice to a diverse range of experiences—from joyful celebrations to moments of healing and remembrance.”

In addition to formal submissions, CowgirlRadio.com is inviting the broader online community to take part in a companion campaign on social media. Listeners are encouraged to comment on the station’s Mother’s Day promotional posts with the name of any song by any artist that celebrates, uplifts, or honors motherhood. Whether it’s a timeless classic, a personal favorite, or a hidden gem, all suggestions are welcome and appreciated—so long as they reflect love, admiration, or appreciation for maternal figures. There are no wrong answers, and participation is open to everyone. Selected songs and submissions from the community would be considered for inclusion in the Mother’s Day event and may be spotlighted during the broadcast.

CowgirlRadio.com also hopes to feature social media spotlights using the hashtags #CowgirlMoms and #MothersDayCGR. In addition the day’s programming showcases music celebrating or uplifting motherhood, by artists of all kinds. It’s intended to be a day of fun, but also reverence.

This Mother’s Day broadcast follows closely on the heels of CowgirlRadio’s first anniversary and its recent participation in a slate of spring programming that included International Women’s Day and a Pi Day “Day of Rest” livestream. As the station continues to build momentum in its second year, this open call underscores its commitment to elevating real voices and cultivating moments of shared humanity.

Media outlets, community organizations, and potential partners are encouraged to reach out to request advance content previews, interview opportunities, or collaborative coverage. CowgirlRadio is particularly interested in aligning with independent publications, local news outlets, and culture-focused platforms that support storytelling, inclusivity, and community expression.
