Leverage Mobile Deploys Mechanical Contractor Mobile App

Leverage Mobile LLC, an IBM Premier Partner, deployed a new mobility service for mechanical contractors that converts manual, paper-based processes into automated paperless transactions. Using wireless connectivity built into the tablet – in this case, an iPad tablet provided by Verizon – information is easily captured and shared with the central office and potentially customers and suppliers in the future.

“The company we worked with on this project knew they needed to get rid of all that paper. This company is big, and has been around for decades – and as the company grew, it was becoming more and more difficult to get accurate and timely information from all of their jobsites” said Doug Hawley, Leverage Mobile President. “Their foremen were spending hours on paperwork and running back and forth from the work areas to the job trailers instead of working with their crews and planning their next steps – which is what they really get paid for.”

The mobile application is built on IBM technology and is unique because it is offered as a service, not as a “one off” custom development or a “pre-packaged” software solution – it’s really the best of both worlds. Using proprietary Leverage Mobile software that is hosted, mobile applications are already built and ready to be deployed – they just need to be configured to meet each specific set of customer requirements. So mechanical contractors get exactly what they want in a matter of weeks – with no up-front costs and no development.

“We know that mobility can be hard for some organizations” said Matt Smith, Leverage Mobile CTO. “So we try to make it easy. We have built our solution so that mechanical contractors don’t need to have somebody on their team that needs to do anything to get paperless. Just give us your paperwork, and we will get you mobile in weeks, or even days.  iPads, Android smartphones, Windows devices – it doesn’t matter to us – we can make it work on virtually any device running on any network.”

The service also provides two key features important to most mechanical contractors:  integration and mobile device management (MDM). Contractors can not only generate forms, but they can capture data that can be integrated with time keeping, payroll, job costing, accounting and other systems. And, because the service includes enterprise class MDM provided by MaaS360 by IBM, they can keep all their confidential company – and client – information secure.
