Launching the Rhino Man Project: Friendly Human & Global Conservation Corps Celebrate World Rhino Day

A documentary honoring The Rhino Man, the unsung hero of the Rhino conservation effort – the field ranger who sacrifices his or her life every day to protect the rhino from extinction.
ATLANTA - Sept. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- “Since the beginning of the epidemic, the amount of rhinos dying will be more than the amount of rhinos being born,” explains Matt Lindenberg – founder and director of the Global Conservation Corps that piloted the Rhino Man project.

The Rhino Men – the unsung heroes of the rhino conservation effort – fight mercilessly to protect the rhino from a human-induced extinction. The rhino’s horns are a coveted material in Asia and are considered the second most valuable substance on Earth, only behind Uranium. Just as hard as poachers work to kill the rhino for their horns, the Rhino Men work even harder forfeiting their lives to stand up for the rhino – every hour of every day.

With such a compelling and inspiring story to tell, Global Conservation Corps partnered with the video storytelling specialists at Friendly Human to create the “Rhino Man” film to highlight the critical role of their sacrifices with the trailer being released on World Rhino Day celebrated Tuesday, September 22nd.

As one of the field rangers explains in the video, “You must have the guts in order to stand in front of the bullet, because remember there will be a poacher and there will be a rhino, and you are the bullet proof for the rhino.”

“Their story will move you to help and it will leave you believing that there is hope in spite of tragedy. We wanted to capture every essence of what it means to be a Rhino Man and let the world see how they work selflessly to protect nature against greed,” said Daniel Roberts, CEO of Friendly Human.
