Velodyne halves price on self-driving sensor Zoox, Apple are said to be using

Competition is heating up to cut the cost of the laser sensor systems produced by the San Jose company, which cut its workhorse offering to $4,000 in a move announced on Monday. Some predict the LiDAR systems will get down to about $100 in the near future.
