Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge Provides Local Parks in the Bay Area with Play Equipment
SAN MATEO, Calif. - Sept. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge announced today its Outdoor Playday Initiative aimed at encouraging families to spend more time outdoors together. Representative of the event series' mission to help foster a more active, adventurous, and perseverant younger generation, Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge aims to encourage families to spend more quality time together getting outside and being active. With the support of Subaru, who is committed to making outdoor fun as accessible as possible, Kids Obstacle Challenge will be providing parks in the San Mateo, CA area with play equipment including jump ropes, frisbees, basketballs, soccer balls, and more. Parks will be provided with play equipment on September 8th.

In addition to participating in Outdoor Playday, families are encouraged to share their activities on social media using #KOCOutdoorPlayday, to educate other families about the initiative and encourage them to get outside. Kids Obstacle Challenge also encourages the use of the hashtag to share how families spend outdoor time together to help inspire new ways of family bonding.

"Through this initiative, we aim to reduce screen time and inspire families to connect with one another and the outdoors," said Brooke Jackson, Managing Director of Kids Obstacle Challenge. "We look forward to encouraging kids and their families to be more active and adventurous, not just at our events but throughout the year."

The Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge event series – which will host its Bay Area event on September 15-16 at Coyote Point Recreation Area in San Mateo, CA – will continue to emphasize the importance of family bonding and outdoor activity with events in cities across the nation. Events offer kids ages 5-16 and their parents (who run for free!) and opportunity to challenge themselves and get muddy together as they tackle a 1.5-2 miles obstacle course with 13-15 obstacles!
