Affordable housing project proposed near retail, services — and industrial development

Nashville-based Elmington Capital Group has filed a rezoning petition to build up to 231 apartments on a 10.5-acre site between South Tryon Street and John Price Road, across from Nevada Boulevard — an area that is largely zoned I-1, or light industrial, which can include a range of commercial uses like light manufacturing, distribution, retail and other services.
