Former Royal Chef Now Catering In Dallas

Local bloggers in Dallas are buzzing that a former royal chef who cooked for the Queen and Princess Diana is now based in the area.

According to one local post, Chef Darren McGrady had cooked for the royal family of the United Kingdom for 15 years, but more recently he has lived and worked in Dallas for years now. The article says that Delish.com published a short article attached to a video they did with him published on April 7th where he recreated the Queen’s favorite birthday cake.

According to the article in Delish.com, “Darren McGrady was the personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Princess Diana, Prince Charles, and Princes William and Harry—a family with notoriously specific food needs—for 15 years. In 1998, he moved to the U.S.A. where he wrote best-selling cookbooks and founded Eating Royally, a fine-dining catering service based in Dallas, TX.”

Later, The Dallas Morning News too picked up on this story in an article published July 9th. In that Dallas Morning article, they say “The Dallas-based chef, who once doted on Di, is now delivering his food to Southlake, beginning Tuesday, July 14. ‘The Dallas area has really taken off with our drop-off menu and we are now expanding it,’ McGrady said. Whether it’s watermelon salad with arugula, feta, and mint dressing or lemon parmesan Chilean sea bass, McGrady’s preparations are nods to his experience cooking for royalty and fine-dining tradition. At $41.50 per entree (which includes a choice from one of five salads), they also offer variety for at-home diners stuck in a culinary rut.”

The comunity section of a long-time Dallas law firm's blog mentioned that if any of its readers fancy themselves a decent enough home cook, maybe they would like to try their hand at some of Chef Darren’s recipes themselves. The article says that way, they would have something to snack on while they binge-watch Season 4 of The Crown, a historical drama streaming television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, created and principally written by Peter Morgan, and produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures Television for Netflix.

D Magazine likewise has an article published in the March-April edition of D Home magazine, now available online with 3 recipes from Darren McGrady. The D Magazine article says, “Get your Brit fix with a proper tea party. Chef Darren McGrady, caterer, and owner of Eating Royally, brings us three recipes for tea sandwiches. (Before moving to Dallas, McGrady fired up the kitchens of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Sandringham House, and Balmoral Castle, just to name a few jewels in his crown.)” Finally, the article says that it hopes Chef Darren has many more happy and successful years in Dallas, since clearly, in his mind, it’s a lovely place to work after Buckingham Palace.

The Dallas area law firm says that it is 100% dedicated to assisting people with injuries resulting from car accidents, motorcycle accidents, 18 wheeler truck accidents, work accidents, severe dog bites, wrongful death, premises liability, product defects, and more.

The firm’s founder, Kristopher Barber, began his legal profession as an attorney at a large insurance defense firm. During his trial work as a defense attorney, he learned how cases are defended and the circumstances under which insurance companies pay to settle lawsuits. It is that knowledge that he now uses to handle injury cases, auto accident cases, product liability cases, and other Dallas personal injury claims for the firm’s clients.

Mr. Barber has also been awarded an AV “Preeminent” Peer Review Rating, the highest rating a lawyer can obtain.
