Dallas Group Health Insurance Benefits Leads Spring ACA Enrollment For 2021

Rick Thornton, a Dallas group health insurance agent, says the President’s decision to reopen enrollment for the Affordable Care Act is a good sign for those who desperately need healthcare.

Dallas group health insurance received a long awaited boom recently when the President chose to reopen enrollment for the Affordable Care Act on the Market Place moving swiftly to ensure everyone has an opportunity to obtain coverage while at the same time making a clear statement that the ACA is here to stay despite years of nearly being repealed.

The special enrollment period is expected to run through May 15, though that timeline varies per state — including Dallas small business health insurance. Many politicians and pundits are applauding the move as an encouraging sign of good things to come for a nation that has seen its fair share of strife over the past year between COVID-19, courtroom drama, and most recently, winter storms in Texas that only made affordable healthcare more difficult to come by. The coronavirus, in particular, has claimed more than 510,000 American lives and left others searching for affordable healthcare.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, roughly nine million uninsured Americans are estimated to obtain free or subsidized health insurance during the special enrollment period. According to The Seattle Medium, those earning up to 400 percent of the federal poverty line – about $51,500 for one person and $106,000 for a family of four — government subsidies are available.

Rick Thornton, a health insurance agent who sells group health insurance in Dallas, agrees with the move, as well. The ACA was originally signed into law in 2010 but has been under fire since he left office as the past administration worked to repeal the bill in its entirety. The number of Americans without small group health insurance in Dallas began to rise once he took office in 2016 and has gotten worse. With enrollment now open and a more positive light being placed on the ACA, Thornton feels that this will benefit the insured, uninsured, and nationwide insurers everywhere.
