Technicolor Connected Home Recognized in 2020 JAC Best Practice Supplier Awards for Supply Chain Engagement During COVID-19 Emergency

ATLANTA - March 10, 2021 - PRLog -- Technicolor Connected Home announces that it has received a special mention for supply chain engagement during the COVID-19 emergency in the Joint Audit Cooperative (JAC) Initiative's 2020 Best Practice Supplier Awards.

The JAC Initiative is an association of 17 telecom operators that collaborates through the sharing of resources and best practices in supply chain management. This year's award celebrates industry excellence in implementing long-term corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies for operators, manufacturing centers and suppliers across the information and communications technology (ICT) supply chain.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020 introduced disruptions on an unprecedented global scale for consumer electronics and customer premises equipment manufacturing operations. JAC has recognized Technicolor Connected Home's response to the crisis for supporting manufacturing centers and suppliers by quickly moving away from a singular focus on supply chain efficiency to implementing shared strategies that incorporate the principles of continuity, agility, resilience and transparency (CART) in a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner.

In the last few years, difficulties spurred by increases in memory prices, the shortage of multilayer ceramic capacitors and trade restrictions provided ample opportunity to establish and put the principles of CART into practice. Global reaction to the pandemic ushered in sourcing challenges, labor shortages and quarantine measures, and Technicolor Connected Home relied on the CART principles to navigate these disruptions.

Technicolor Connected Home managed risks to optimize "continuity" in difficult circumstances by making investments that maximize component availability throughout the supply chain landscape thereby minimizing the negative impact of sourcing disruptions. The sustained cultivation of supplier partnerships provided the "agility" needed to quickly expand capacity in alternative locations while paring down operations in others. Executives enacted long-term plans for "resilience" by incorporating a combination of high-quality sourcing options to rebuild and restart operations. New supply chain management technologies offered mission-critical data and analytics in near real time, enabling Technicolor Connected Home to achieve a level of "transparency" that helped all its ecosystem parties maintain a detailed situational awareness throughout the supply chain.

To accomplish these objectives while remaining socially responsible, ecologically sustainable and efficiently profitable, Technicolor Connected Home increased investments in supplier engagement operations, hiring additional staff and training team members to accelerate response to customer requests and meet key CSR objectives. Technicolor deployed new compliance and reporting resources to protect human rights, improve waste management and drastically reduce hazardous materials from its supply chain operations.

"To be recognized by JAC is a testament to Technicolor Connected Home's commitment to developing next generation customer premises equipment in a sustainable manner. Our executives, technical product management team, sourcing and manufacturing teams have risen to the challenges created by constant disruptions within the supply chain. Our ability to maintain delivery of CPE at the highest quality while undergoing operational transformation and platform modernization during 2020 reflects our commitment to our customers, our supplier partners, our internal teams...and our planet," says Lawrence Hau, Senior vice President Global Sourcing for Technicolor Connected Home.
