ARLA-regulated Edinburgh letting agency, Clan Gordon, has published a recent survey that looks at both specific strategies and broader goals designed to help all stakeholders maintain the outstanding level of service that they have become reputed for. These measures have been published on their website in detail.

Clan Gordon adapted its practice swiftly following the outbreak of the coronavirus, introducing a host of new measures to prevent service disruption as best as possible. Some of the measures have been published in the survey.

Communication with landlords and tenants was prioritised and the family-run business introduced a new remote telephone system to enable key staff to be reached at all times while working from home. Clan Gordon took necessary safety measures to enable property inspections and critical safety checks to continue, prioritising landlords’ obligations and tenants’ safety at all times.

The team at Clan Gordon sought feedback throughout to help them navigate the changes caused by the pandemic, including a customer survey which returned the following results:

- 88% of clients said there was nothing Clan Gordon could have done better to reduce the impact of the Coronavirus situation.
- 80% of clients said they didn’t find their letting experience adversely affected by the pandemic.
- Key concerns at the start of the outbreak were losing tenants and not being able to replace them, or rents not being paid.
- Only 11% of respondents reported being impacted by either of these issues.
- 100% were satisfied with the service provided in any area, including maintenance, inspections, viewings, and updates to service changes

The latest publication also takes a brief look at future plans to address further changing needs during the pandemic and beyond, including ongoing efforts to provide virtual inspections and necessary visits, such as safety checks, maintenance, and repairs, always abiding by safe practice.
