Fifth Annual Aces for Alzheimer's Trivia Fundraiser Goes Virtual, Sets High Goals

LARCHMONT, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 8, 2021 /  Aces for Alzheimer's has moved its fundraising efforts online with a Virtual Team Trivia Night on Sunday, April 18, 2021. The event runs from 5:30 to 7 PM ET, and tickets are available on its website at https://www.acesforalzheimers100.org/. This event is for trivia buffs of all ages. Tickets are purchased on an Eventbrite link that can be found on the organization's website. The cost is $150 for an Adult Team and $50 for a Student Team. Teams can include up to 6 members on one ticket.

The team trivia contest will consist of a Master of Ceremonies asking the questions; then the teams will submit their answers. No need to worry if you have slow internet, the winners are based on the number of right answers, not who buzzes in first. At the end of the event, the answers will be tallied up, and if there is a tie, there will be tiebreaker questions until a winner emerges. Teams can win cash prizes as follows; $500 for First Place, $250 for Second, and $150 for third. Like last year, the proceeds from the event will be donated to Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic (APC) at Weill Cornell Medicine. Aces for Alzheimer's has set a goal of raising $50,000 from this event, toward its annual goal of $70,000. It would like to thanks its event sponsors, The Altman Family Charitable Foundation, MTS Health Partners, Northern Trust Bank, the Randall Family, and the Joseph Family.

Sam and Jackson's parents shared their feelings, "We are so proud and impressed with your commitment and work ethic. This past year has been so difficult and it's amazing to see how you persevered and continued to raise money for Alzheimer's."

Jackson and Sam also shared, "The pandemic did not and will not stop us! We are so excited for the big event and hope to raise tons of money for Alzheimer's prevention!"

Previous events include the 2017, 2018, and 2019 Aces for Alzheimer's Tall & Short Tennis Tournaments. The Casino and Trivia Night fundraiser scheduled for April 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic, and the organization still met its fundraising goals for that year.

About Aces for Alzheimer's

Aces for Alzheimer's is led by Jackson Owen and Sam Smoltz, Juniors at Mamaroneck High School in Mamaroneck, New York. Their families, like so many, have been deeply affected by Alzheimer's, and this disease has taken family members and friends close to them. Aces for Alzheimer's was founded by their sisters, Jane Smoltz (Colby College '23) and Abigail Owen (Dartmouth College ‘23) in 2015. Once the founders went off to college, the boys took over this important work and made it their own! While they raised and donated $50,000 for Alzheimer's prevention in 2020, they have ambitious fundraising goals and community outreach projects planned for this year. Jackson and Sam are striving to hit a goal of donating $70,000 for Alzheimer's research and prevention in 2021! They can be reached at acesforalzheimers100@gmail.com or by phone at 917-763-4035.
