Netstar project manager gains international accreditation further establishing themselves as one of the authoritative sources of cybersecurity.

April 13, 2021 / /

London, April 2021 - At the beginning of April, Netstar Project Manager, Sarah Barraclough, achieved her QA Foundation Certificate in Cyber Security. This is an international accreditation that's certified by the National Cyber Security Centre, establishing itself as a very sought after and trustworthy qualification. It is the latest string in the bow for Sarah, who is already a highly respected professional in the digital world. This latest achievement will further build upon and prove that she has extensive knowledge of cybersecurity in an ever-changing digital climate.

The QA Foundation Certificate
The certification covers a comprehensive and high-level overview across industry-standard technology and platforms. Its aim is to illuminate the technology and its specific cyber governance, explaining issues such as risks and assurance challenges. The course itself is split into various topics, covering all of the main security skills, including:

- Common methods of attack
- Digital footprints
- Encryption
- Network security
- Proactive monitoring
- Risk management
- Threat modelling
- Virtualisation and cloud technologies

Due to the sheer depth and coverage of the course, this certification is highly coveted by professionals within the industry. A lot of time and dedication is required to pass the course, and participants already need to know a lot about security risks and the industry. It's seen by many as one of the top certifications to gain for professional development.

Going above and beyond to expand knowledge
To achieve the certification, Sarah had to dedicate 3-4 hours every week to the course. She would study after work for 6 weeks, sometimes studying for 5 days each week. It was an awful lot of extra time and effort for her to put in, but she more than stood up to the test. All of this additional studying helped her build her cybersecurity knowledge and skillset to the point where she felt comfortable taking the exam. Of course, she passed with flying colours and has earned her certification.

As such, Sarah has gone above and beyond to enhance her knowledge of the current security landscape. This has given her the power to better assist clients with their own security environments. Ultimately, it means that Netstar can continue to improve its service offerings, bringing new ideas and expertise to the table at all times.

Sarah is not the first Netstar employee to undergo additional training, and she certainly won't be the last. The company is always keen to keep expanding its offerings and building on the impressive service it already offers. Constant education and professional development are seen as the keys to this.
