CYBN Announces It Is Hosting PLAYMAKERS WINTER LEAGUE Through March 2022

11/30/2021, Chicago // PRODIGY: Feature Story //

CYBN, or the Chicago Youth Basketball Network, has announced that the network will be hosting the Playmakers Winter League right through to March 2022. During the league, teams will be required to play 2 games on any weekend as part of the Playmaker Series. The games will be in a 2-game format which teams enjoy playing. Then there will also be the Championship Weekend for every session. Like every year, it is expected that there will be over 200 teams from across the state competing. It is also expected that this year's winter league will be bigger and better than all previous ones, with a growing number of people showing interest in watching and participating.

The Playmakers Winter League is the biggest of the year, and CYBN is planning for 200 plus teams. The winter session will include league scheduling mainly to avoid having the same teams playing; there will be MVPs each game and will also include an All-Star Night sometime in March.

The current winter session was previously called the WSYL. The league is already attracting a large number of Illinois high school basketball teams. The winter league will also include girls basketball tournaments. The games are also expecting a huge audience, larger than ever before, with coaches and other important people in attendance.

"We have an exciting roster of players and some of the best teams from leading schools competing head to head. However, this year we expect a larger number of teams to participate from more schools than ever before. One of the reasons we expect this is because the Chicago Youth Basketball Network has done a great deal of work to create awareness of youth basketball, which has meant that there are more people watching than ever before. So, this is an excellent time for teams to prove what they are made off." Said a representative for Chicago Youth Basketball Network.

He added, "Winters are also an excellent time for the girls' team to play. We are expecting a larger number of girls' teams playing this year. The Playmaker Winter League has already been signing up leading girls teams from top schools in Chicago, and there will be more following in the next couple of days. All of this means that there is a lot of basketball to be played and enjoyed by everyone. So, if you have not registered yet, now would be a great time."

About Chicago Youth Basketball Network

The Chicago Youth Basketball Network (CYBN) is one of Chicago's most recognized and active youth basketball organizations. At present, they serve over 5000 teams, and the number of registrations is growing each year. The organization helps many schools and other organizations save up to $250,000 annually. However, the uptick in the number of teams registering and those that are poised to register will have a positive effect on the sport in general. Although the Chicago Youth Basketball Network isn't a tournament broker and does not invest capital in any basketball team, they provide the school districts and municipalities the opportunity to rent courts at a discounted price. The CYBN and its growing partner network own several gyms in Chicago. The fees are 25% of what they usually are with the same facilities. That means organizations save money and keep the gyms filled; a win-win for everyone.
