When downgrading accounting software involves more than just saving money

By: Zexprwire

Brandon, MB, 25th Jan 2022, ZEXPRWIRE, Sage 50 Quantum is capable of performing industry-specific functions for a number of sectors including construction, manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, non-profit organizations, food and beverage companies, professional services providers, and wholesale distributors. Each separate industry can benefit from the tailored functionality that the Sage 50 Quantum can bring to their accounting and business management operations.

Sage 50 Quantum allows up to 40 users to access data securely and helps manage and keep a track of the entire purchase and sales processes by automated workflow systems. With a more intense and large database capacity, accessing reports is faster.

Sage 50 Premium Accounting comes with inventory tracking and planning options, item and service data customization, estimates to actuals comparison, cash flow managing, over 100 built-in financial statements and reports, Excel-based reporting tool, customer management center, business status center and vendor management center features. The cost of license starts at $569 per user per year.

Sage 50 Pro costs $249 per year while Sage 50 Quantum costs upwards of $1,499 per year for the 3-user version or $2,599 per year for the 10-user version. The Premium version costs $299 per year for a 1-User license, $649 per year for the 3-User license, and $999 per year for the 5-user license. “Although Sage 50 Quantum Accounting helps manage all aspects of a business, including accounting, customers, inventory, services, jobs and employees–all in one centralized system, it could also incur a significant increase in overall costs,” E-Tech’s John Rocha said. “Downgrading Sage 50 Quantum data file to Sage 50 Pro or Premium can be a significant cost saving measure over yearly recurring fees for Sage 50 Quantum if the Pro or Premium edition is sufficient for your business needs.”

As for productivity and usability, Sage 50 Quantum has been reported to demonstrate an outdated interface, with limited remote access. Installation of the software has also been reported to be quite challenging.

E-Tech is a leading QuickBooks consultancy service provider in North America, and offers a premium conversion service from Sage 50 Quantum to Sage 50 Pro or Premium.
