OECD Forms ‘Senior Panel of Experts’ including Blockchain Industry Experts

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) announced this week that it has formed a ‘Senior Panel of Experts’ ”, also known as the Blockchain Expert Policy Advisory Board (BEPAB), which includes experts from the cryptocurrency industry. The group said the group’s main goal is to “provide advice on its work on blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies; this will include the development of high-level blockchain policy principles.” “The geographic diversity of BEPAB is critical for developing international blockchain policy principles,” explained Yoichi Iida, the incoming chair of the OECD’s Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP). According to the statement, the high-level panel of experts consists of 45 Comprised of representatives from government and the European Commission, the private sector, industry bodies and civil society groups. The current membership list shows that the Council has a total of 93 experts.
