MABLEAN EPHRIAM FOUNDATION CELEBRATES HUF AWARDS 20 YEARS STRONG HONORING FATHERS AND PROVIDING COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS.
The HUF Awards is one of the longest-running most celebrated Father's Day events in Los Angeles. Now in its commemorative 20th year, Judge Mablean Ephriam and the Mablean Ephriam Foundation have celebrated fathers in an annual award ceremony annually for nearly two decades. This year that celebration will be televised nationwide on Byron Allen's GrioTV
Honoring Unsung Fathers focuses on the often-overlooked efforts of father's, it also provides thousands of dollars annually to assist needing students with scholarship money to go to school as well as money to keep students in school that are currently enrolled.
Though we are not back in the hotel ballroom, you still get to enjoy the HUF Awards. The show will be broadcast on the Grio Facebook platform and on the Grio cable Channel on June 19th. Yep, Juneteenth! Comedian, Michael Colyar will "do his thang" again as our host. Our 2022 Celebrity Presenters are Tiffany Haddish, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Judge Kevin Ross. Amazingly talented, Michael Phillips will be our instrumental musical guests and the fathers this year are truly deserving. It will be a great show. Plan to tune in with your family. We will, as always, honor fathers, who have accepted their role and provided the loving nurture, and support their children need and deserve in these most challenging and stressful times. Our honorees include Daryl Osby, Chief, Los Angeles County Fire Department, receiving the Founder's Award, and Mr. Harvey Huddleston from UPS Human Resources Dept., our Board of Directors Award recipient. The group of fathers who will receive our other five awards, Solo Warrior, Love Cares, Fatherhood Forever, Village dad, and Living Legacy, are absolutely some of the best fathers we have ever honored. Their stories are amazing. This year, you will hear from the fathers directly. They are unsung heroes who we are proud to honor on this historical Juneteeth.
Additionally, we will award scholarships to 2022 graduating seniors and MEF returning scholars from the classes of 2021, 2020, and 2019. These young people are most deserving and are all in need of our support to allow the to continue the pursuit of their dream of a higher education and careers that make America better. Tough most deserving, these students will be unable to attend college without support from people like you who help us provide scholarships. This year our goal is to award at least $100,000 in scholarships. We cannot do it without your support Please donate.
