Manassas, Virginia Jul 19, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Read With Carylee Road Trip & Children's Book Festival
Read With Carylee is hitting the road for a fun-filled event and celebration of diversity in children's literature, on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2022 at the HYLTON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, MANASSAS, VIRGINIA.
The Read With Carylee Road Trip and Children's Book Festival is currently the major source of fundraising by Read With Carylee, Inc. We will expand our reach by promoting diverse children's literature, with the ability to connect with several thousand children each year. The Read With Carylee Road Trip and Children's Book Festival hopes to travel to several cities for the 2022 - 2023 schedule, expanding each year.
Other significant contributions to the community include the Read With Carylee Show on YouTube, which has featured over 100 authors since its inception, in November 2019. The Read With Carylee Show created a source for children to find new books and authors through the pandemic, while schools and libraries had to remain closed. Created and hosted by Carylee Carrington, we connected children with authors from all around the world.
"To think that all this started because a classmate told my son to only play with only black friends. Now I'm connecting with authors from all over and promoting diversity so all children can feel seen in books," said Carylee. Read With Carylee has quickly become a global fan favorite with the addition of her YouTube series and now she's ready to take the show on the road. First, stop Northern Virginia.
For the Road Trip and Children's Book Festival, Carylee will not just help area authors showcase and sell their books, she will be bringing her YouTube show LIVE. In a Sesame Street LIVE feel, Carylee will host, bringing authors to the stage to interact and have read-loads with our fantastic audience of children and families.

About Carylee: Carylee Carrington is an author, entrepreneur, and literacy advocate. She resides in Northern Virginia with her two boys, where she enjoys an active lifestyle. Originally from the island of Jamaica, Carylee grew up in New York City before making Northern Virginia her home. She is known to some as the "accidental author," being a children's author was not where she believed her life would lead. In addition to her authorship, Carylee is also an enormous supporter and advocate for the arts. She has visited schools in Virginia and Georgia, encouraging the love of reading and the art of writing and self-publishing. She has expanded her passion for sharing books to other media platforms such as YouTube. In 2019, she created the show, Read With Carylee, where she introduces the audience to children's book authors, who share their books in their voices. Sharing these books helps her bring positive, inspirational books to children, encouraging them to believe in their dreams and be the best version of themselves.
