Distribution for the single estate-grown and produced joven rosa tequila is confirmed in California, Florida, New York, and Texas.
United States - August 5, 2023 —
Celosa Tequila, a new joven rosa tequila, is launching distribution in California, New York, Florida, and Texas, in 2023 through distributor partners Legends Spirits and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS). Celosa (750ml, 40% ABV, $129) uses exclusively seven-year-old 100% Blue Weber agave that is grown and harvested in a single-estate distillery, Hacienda La Capilla, in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico and is an additive-free tequila.
Celosa was born from a moment of synchronicity between three Mexican founders with a passion for the quality, craftsmanship, and process of both tequila and winemaking. The secret of Celosa lies in the blend of a family legacy of over 200 years in tequila, soil quality, the age of the agave, and experimentation resting the tequila in used French oak red wine barrels from Napa Valley (previously rested Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon). This process softens the tequila and imparts its distinctive rosé color, depth, and purity for taste and silky finish for sipping.
“On behalf of Celosa Tequila, we are proud to bring a new joven rosa from Jalisco to the world, and a family legacy of over 200 years of craftsmanship and knowledge has led us here,” says Jose Beckmann, Co-Founder of Celosa. “On the palate, Celosa carries a crispness of berries complimented with soft vanilla undertones. The flavor of the French oak red wine barrels leaves a long, sweet, and smooth finish that differentiates our product. We look forward to a year of continued growth for this first of its kind joven rosa meant to be sipped pure either chilled or on a large chunk of ice and enjoyed in cocktails such as a margarita or pink Negroni.”
Celosa, which means jealousy, is a reflection of love, passion, and Mexican craftsmanship. Each Celosa bole contains a unique Monterrey black marble cap crafted by Mexican artisans in the north-central Mexican state of Querétaro, and no two boles are the same. The twist at the bottleneck represents the blend of the two components that make Celosa: wine barrels and tequila, and the boom of the bole is molded to reflect the agave heart at the core of it all.
Celosa was founded by Jose Beckmann, the 12th generation in a tequila-making family and descendant of Don Jose Antonio de Cuervo; Paul Pietrini, who brings a family background in wine and spirits distribution through Montaner Pietrini, the second largest distributor in France; and Javier Alonso, who was the pillar that brought together the meeting of the founders across the industry at large. The team is also committed to environmental, social, and governance efforts and meeting the highest standard of sustainability best practices.
In addition to its entry into the United States, Celosa is available across Europe through French luxury distribution group Spirit Brothers, as well as St. Tropez, Cannes, and more openings to be announced in the coming months. For information, visit www.celosatequila.com and follow @celosatequila.
